Preorder New Album and Shows-Opening for Dar Williams in Knoxville

Album News: I hope you are having an amazing summer!  First of all the album, Myth of Solid Ground, is almost done! The new tunes are mastered (thank you to Kitchen Mastering in Chapel Hill, NC) and a million thanks to our incredible producer Greg Horne for all his work. The new album will be out in September at the latest. I will keep you posted on an exact release date.

Preordering the Album: If anyone is interested in preordering a copy of "Myth of Solid Ground", feel free to email me. I will set up a paypal site if there is enough interest in preordering copies of the new CD.
Essentially, it would be $15 for a copy (which Laith and I would sign) and $20 if you want a copy of the album and a necklace that Laith would make for you. With each necklace sold, proceeds would go to the The Vanderbuilt Cancer Center. Email me at jodie@jodiemanross.com if interested.

Laith News: As many of you know, Laith is now in remission from Stage 4 B-cell lymphoma. I cannot say thank you enough for all our friends, fans and family's love and support through so much. Over the past three years, Laith has overcome and continues to overcome many health challenges. The latest has been that Laith has had to get numerous operations due to vascular necrosis. He recently had a hip replacement and will be having a shoulder replacement in August. This album is a celebration of his overcoming so much and a celebration of creating music together for the past 12 years.

The New Album:
I cannot tell you how proud I am of the music on this album. It has a rockin' version of The Who's Baba O'Riley, Laith singing on an amazing Peter Case cover, many originals I hope you will love and a song I wrote about the Darfur Crisis, which features acclaimed musicians such as Sammy Merendino (drummer for Cyndi Lauper), Andrew Carillo (Joan Osborn's guitar player), Graham Maby (bass player for Joe Jackson and Natalie Merchant), Rob Hyman (co-writer of "Time After Time" with Cyndi Lauper) and Darden Smith (Dual Tone recording artist/Austin singer-songwriter, ) on back-up vocals. It also features incredible musical contributions by Knoxville musicians such as Greg Horne, Ben Maney and Nathan Barrett!

Peter Mayer in Oak Ridge, TN

To all my dear friends and fan in Knoxville, TN area,

One of my fave churches to sing at, High Places, is hosting an amazing singer-songwriter, Peter Mayer, this coming Friday, Dec. 5th at 7 PM. I have had the honor of opening for Peter several times now and he is one of mine and Laith's biggest influences! His songs range from funny (like songs about Sesame Street and wanting to be a fake plant) to unbelievably eloquent and moving (Everything is Holy Now is one of my favorite songs ever written).
If you can, come out to see such an incredible independent singer-songwriter and also support a lovely community of people at High Places Church.

*There are still some tickets left at the historic Grove Theater in Oak Ridge, TN (123 Randolph) for THIS Fri, Dec. 5
Tickets are $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door

More information is available at http://petermayer.net or
http://highplaceschurch.com.

Love and peace, jodie
